So much fun

Hi All,

I really haven't fallen off the face of the earth. With our move, I have found myself busy in so many areas of my life. I seem to find new and exciting ways to keep myself busy. You should ask me about the White Pine Children's Art Festival, coming to Ely, NV this summer. It should be fun, but is keeping me busy.

This sweet family has been so welcoming to us, They are lots of fun and the girls love flirting with and teasing our youngest son. It was such a pleasure to capture them on film, I took over 250 pictures and we could have taken more.

My concern was their sweet Derek. Derek is an incredible soul, he has some health challenges and is in a wheelchair. He doesn't speak, but when you rub his arm (or his tummy :) ) his face just lights up. We wanted to get some pictures that would capture him, I prayed for days that we would get something that was wonderful for his family, and I feel like we got some great shots.
Hope you are all having a wonderful spring. We are having a few days of beautiful weather so I am off to enjoy the sun.
Love, ALS

Trash the Cake

A friend of mine from when we lived in Georgia is now living in Japan and working as a photographer, we recently got back in touch and I looked at her pictures, one was lots of fun, trashing the cake with a cute baby attacking his birthday cake. I decided with a one year old in one week that we would give it a try. It turned out really cute. I think I definately have a girl because it took some coaxing to get her to attack the cake, but she finally decided to dig in.Let me know what you think. ALS

Family photos

Over Christmas vacation my family finally got a family picture together, it's been years. I think since my mission that we actually took one, so getting us all together was a big deal, thanks to my sister-in-law who let me borrow her tripod since I forgot mine at home, these pictures turned out wonderful. My Dad and brother own a construction company and my parents have always wanted a picture on the equipment. This was the perfect opportunity. Let me know what you think! ALS

Fun Portraits

In setting up for today's photo shoot, I was testing the light and got it a little strong, but with a little tweak in photoshop, changed from color to black and white, this is what I got. I like the almost drawing like quality of these pictures, I think I'll set this up for my older kids. Let me know what you think. ALS

Last one

This is the last post of Thanksgiving pictures and it was too fun. These boys are especially fun to photograph, I love their personalities and grateful I get to watch them grow up. Let me know what you think. ALS

Number two

This is the second family, the light was perfect and we were lucky to get a few shots with happy faces, taking pictures for kids is so hard sometimes, even when Aunt Amy bribes them with candy, silly jokes and funny faces. So fun. Tell me what you think.

I love this photo, I love the expression on my N's face, the dog is my other sister-in-laws, but he so wanted to be in the picture.

I played with a new techinique on this one, it's got a texture added to it, I'm not sure what I think, what do you think?

Thanksgiving fun

We traveled 15 hours, one way, to visit with my husband's family this thanksgiving and in the midst of eating lots of food and playing wonderful games and having a splendid time talking and of course teasing a little, we found some time to take family pictures. Now I am a biased Aunt and think I have some of the most talented, kind and cute nieces and nephews around, so it was fun to take their pictures. Here are the first of the three families I photographed, Enjoy and tell me what you think :) ALS
