Lockharts at the Lotus Temple

My Friends the Lockharts asked me to do some pictures of just the kids, so we decided to go to the local Krishna Temple here in Spanish Fork, UT. It looks rather impressive from the road and while there were some fun places to take pictures, they charged us $20 and it was a little dirty (mostly bird poop, which little children don't like to sit on, even if it's dry) It was fun and I'm almost done with all of the pictures, but here are my favorites so far. Enjoy ALS

Fall Family fun

The last couple of weeks I've enjoyed taking family pictures, it's been such a fun time. The kids have been great and the weather has been perfect, especially in November and only 50 degrees. A neighbor and their family asked me to take pictures, which was fun, the kids were so cute. My sister-in-law and her family celebrated Thanksgiving together and I got to take their pictures. My cousins live in Provo and I got to take their pictures as well. It's been a busy couple of weeks! Hope you enjoy them. Amy

More fall fun

It's fall and my busiest time of year for family photos. I haven't done any weddings lately, which is good because the more pregnant I get the less I want to chase after a bride and groom. Chasing after a family is much more fun and a little less tiring, plus kids will only smile for so long so it's usually a quick shoot. Here's a starter picture, I took my friends family to the local trail and at the end we got this picture, I like that it's a little dark and you can get the feel of the night coming on with your best buddies. I only processed the one last night and will post more when I get them done. I really liked the feel of it so tell me what you think. Thanks, Amy

Fall Fun

So my husband has jokingly called this one "frustration" if you look closely you can see a fishing lure stuck in a tree. I waited to try and get a fish jumping out of the water but they were feeling camera shy. Oh well, I still like the reflection and the unused lure waiting for the nonexistent bite.

Setting the self timer and getting my pregnant self into a well composed picture was a bit of a challenge, but I love the light in this picture and everyone is mostly happy.

My cute DD found this leaf and loved it, I love her expression.

This is the cute Gasaway family, they were so fun to shoot.

The Tompsons were also a great shoot. The kids did really well smiling for the camera, it's such a hard thing to do.

Hi All,
I've had a couple of great shoots recently. I took pictures of the Thomson Family and the Gasaway Family and then did our own family pictures. I had such a fun time with each family, their pictures turned out great and I'm excited to keep doing more. Hope you all are having a great fall. Love, Amy

catching up

These apples were at the market as well, they just looked so tasty, it must be fall :)

I did an article for the paper and took this at the local farmers market. They were such a happy family enjoying everything there, it was fun to see them having such a good time.

These are all my nephews and kids for my mom's Christmas picture. She wanted to send this with her cards, it was a crazy shoot, but so fun and amazingly most of the kids are looking the right way, we had so much fun with the kids. It really turned out great.

This is my dear friend, she came from Mass, so we had to take pictures, this is my fav!!! Thanks Kathleen!

One afternoon we took these pics at the park for a neighborhood family, this is one of my favorites, just because they were having so much fun playing.

It's no good to feel tired and pregnant though. It leaves me not wanting to update pictures which is bad. Here are some recent pictures I've taken. Enjoy. Amy

Wind Farm

This photo was featured on the front page of the Sapnish Fork Press. It was huge. I learned so much about wind farms, I think we should build more. Enjoy, Amy

Weddings, Weddings

I've had interesting wedding experiences lately. I read an article interviewing wedding professionals and their take on whether marriages would last based on their limited view of the couple during a high stress period in their lives. They thought they could and I think to some degree they are right. At some weddings you can tell that the couple just like each other, of course there is the physical attraction, but mostly they enjoy being together. Sometimes it's all about the physical attraction and I must admit I feel like a voyeur at times with those couples and it's very uncomfortable for me. Weddings are an interesting affair and it's interesting to be witness to someones special day. It's interesting to meet the family and feel the dynamics and be a fly on the wall documenting so much. I hope you enjoy these pics of my latest weddings. Enjoy, Amy

May Wedding

I've decided I really like doing candids, I get to take the fun pictures that have a little personality. The wind was blowing this day and her veil would not

stay put, it was fun to try and get interesting shots with it. Amy

Heffa

So I've been writing a lot for the local paper. It has been a fun adventure. I only wished it paid more. I think I like meeting new people and finding out about them and learning new things, it is always interesting. This picture is of Heffa Tuita, he is on Nickolodeon's Dancing on Sunset and probably the closest I'll get to a celebrity here in Spanish Fork, unless you count the stars of High School Musical, which I haven't met but have heard are very nice. We met at a local coffee/sandwich place and I took this and did the interview, he's a sweet kid and I hope he goes far in his chosen profession.

Slacker and photos

Hi All,
I feel like a slacker, I haven't posted in forever. It's been a crazy couple of months. But I am trying to catch up with things so here's what I've been up to. I've been writing articles for the local paper, it's what I did before I had children, and it allows me to take pictures for the articles, including the kitty at the animal shelter. I also did some candids for a wedding a couple of weeks ago, I did family pictures for Austin's aunt and uncle and some family pictures for my friends family who won a famioly session at the charity auction. Trying to get kids to look at the camera and smile is quite a challenge, I did learn some great things from that though so when I did my friends family reunion it wasn't so bad. Spring, summer and fall are the perfect times to get photos so let me know if I can capture your family.I hope you enjoy the pics. Love, Amy

Sweet Baby Twins

So I have to say that you can advertise and get great contacts. These pictures were taken beacuase Mom saw my post on KSL. These twins were adorable, new babies are so much fun. The adventure of these shots is that Mom wanted them au naturale and so we all got peed on a little. It was worth it, I really enjoy the shots we got. ALS

Yee-Hah Cowboy

What a crazy couple of weeks. I took pictures at our schools Daddy Daughter Rodeo, what a fun adventure. The girls and their dads and or companions were so cute, it was fun to take their pictures. The one I'm posting is one of my favorites just because she has adorable written across her shirt and indeed they were all adorable. Enjoy. ALS

Charity Photo Shoot

Hi All,

Some of you know that I have been really involved with helping a friend of mine who needs heart surgery raise money for her surgery. Her husband owns his own business and because of their health problems they have been unable to get health insurance. A friend of ours contacted me about doing a charity photo shoot at our elementary school. We're holding it March 8, 2008 from 10:00am-3:00 pm at Riverview Elementary School here in Spanish Fork, UT. There will be a $20 sitting and then packages start at $15, individual pictures are less. All the proceeds from this event will go to help my friend get her surgery. It's always time for a family picture, or we can do just kid pictures, just couples, individual professional headshots. Pass this link to your friends and have them contact me for more information. Thanks, Amy

Another wedding

Hi All,

My friend in Lehi called this past past week and asked if I could do candids for a wedding. It was at Millenial Falls in Draper. Wow, that's a beautiful place, I look forward to going back in the summer. Hope you all have a great day. Amy

Cute Kiddos

So my husband wanted me to take a few pictures of the kids so we can get updated photos out to our family. You'd think being a photographer I'd be good at that, but alas it's like the shoemakers children. So we set up the studio and had a great morning. The baby was not eager to join in, I only got a few good ones of him, marshmallows are a great bribe. I've even included rare footage of the photographer, marshmallows are good for her too, just kidding. Enjoy.

More photos

So I told you it's been crazy. After I got home from the funeral we got in the car and headed to Vegas for my brother's baby's blessing. It was so nice to be able to meet Ryan. They came up on Tuesday for a baby shower and I got to take pictures. The fun thing is that Ryan fit in his Daddy's blessing outfit, booties and all. He's such a sweetie. Isn't it amazing how our lives seem to go full circle in a brief amount of time. What a fun whirlwind. Amy

Funeral

As I said the past couple of weeks have been crazy. My Grandfather passed away about 10 days ago and I was able to attend his funeral in Boise. It was a beautiful service and a wonderful opportunity to be with family. I thought these photos were touching. Amy

Sweet Sealing

It's been a crazy couple weeks. After Christmas we came home and I took some pictures for a sweet family on their sealing day, it was cold but the baby was so good. We had a blast. This picture she got blasted with a cold wind, I just love those cute cheeks. What a privilege to take their pictures to help them remember their day. Amy
